Summer 2026

Sunflowers and Castles to end the Half term.
A fabulous half-term. Our sunflowers were thriving (finally...) and sent home. We have had a lovely last day and finished our castles. Well done Ford.
Scratch
Year 3 have been making music on scratch. They carefully created sprites that resemble piano keys and made them have a second costume so they appear to be pressed. They then made code for changing costumes and playing the corresponding sound just like a real keyboard. They then had fun making their own tunes and playing well known tunes.

Multiskills Festival
Year 3 and 4 spent a fabulous morning at Alnwick Juniors pitch with the NUF coaches at a multiskills festival. The children played dodgeball, football, golf, cricket and games. We had beautiful weather and the children showed great skill in each station, working collaboratively as a team and listening well to coaches. Well done all!

Year 3 enjoyed playing a board game about cacao linking to the Ancient Maya. They all began with 5 counters that represented 5 cacao beans and traded like the Maya did using the cacao beans depending on what square they landed on.

Building Castles in Ford Class
Ford have been using nets to make 3D shapes for their castles- great work!
